Computer design of diffractive structures

Using a dedicated software: LightSword 6.0 we are able to design a desired diffractive structure. Depending on the customer's needs the optical elements can be amplitude or phase-only. The basis for a structure can be one of the following:

bitmap file provided by the customer with amplitude and/or phase
analytical equation of the amplitude and/or phase distribution
the desired light distribution at desired distance - backward beam propagation method is used
Orteh has an experience in designing and testing of complex imaging devices.

Support of diffractive structures' manufacturing

The designed structures can be fabricated in cooperation with ITME (Institute of Electronic Materials Technology) in Warsaw. The Electron-Beam Lithography (EBL) technology is used.

Thanks to Orteh's experience in designing and manufacturing of diffractive optical elements, we are able to manufacture elements with w feature size of 0.3 micron. Using LightSword application one can design structures on matrices of size up to 65536x65536 points, which gives an approx. 20x20mm structure with pixel size of 0.3um.

Interface between LightSword and fabrication systems

Currently, the LightSword software package was added an export interface to save structure information in a file format compatible with ITME's etching EBL device. The exported structures can be either one- or multi-step ones. With help from Orteh IT/IS team we are able to design and implement an interface for a chosen DOE manufacture system.
