HORUS
Full Name: Holographic Wearable Display for Manual Assembly Support
The overall goal of the proposed activity is to develop a novel type of translucent head mounted display, which is free of drawbacks of currently available devices, for specific application of contextual manual assembly support. Unique features of the proposed solution makes it particularly well suitable for space industry, however application in other industry branches is possible as well.
The system will consist of following components:
● The holographic display accompanied by optical system for light generation and projection
● Wearable mechanical support (in form of glasses, goggles or lightweight helmet) for holding the display and electronics
● External and/or built-in awareness sensors for user head localization and recognition and localization of objects in the working area
● External computer with respective software to generate images for the display according to manufacturing scenario
Orteh company is responsible for software developing and optimization that is specifically designed for HORUS project. The role of this software is to convert stack of bitmaps with associated distances (3D image of assembly instructions to be displayed as the hologram) to phase pattern to be displayed by SLM device.
